Diaz is said to have called the campaign to oust Espada "unfair" and "racist".

http://bronx.ny1.com/content/top_stories/125523/power-balance-in-question-as-espada-s-defeat-sinks-in

Unfair? Give me a break. Pedro's ouster was primarily due to in his own ineffectual, self-serving and possibly criminal performance as Senator. The campaign that has ousted him followed the rules. If anyone was "unfair" --it was Espada with things like his undocumented expenditures on food and school supplies, using Senate staff to run a campaign, and illegal deceptive mailings that he clearly sent out.

Racist -- incredible. Not that it should matter, but Mr. Diaz does know that Gustavo Rivera is a Puerto Rican man, just like Espada? Diaz surely knows that many Latino leaders (his son most prominently) helped lead this "unfair" and "racist" ouster of Mr. Espada of Mamaroneck?

I worked hard in my home district this year to elect a honest, intelligent, accountable Senator. I hope I can get the chance in 2012 to help my good friends in the 32nd Senate District do the same.Jackhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17544110001798264698noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6850750806594927202.post-55163423566471870412010-09-15T21:20:11.296-04:002010-09-15T21:20:11.296-04:00Is Senator Diaz trying to solidy power to take ove...Is Senator Diaz trying to solidy power to take over the chairmanship for the Bronx Democratic party?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
