tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6850750806594927202.post5182367468983640007..comments2023-10-30T05:45:18.219-04:00Comments on Bronx News Network: New from the Norwood NewsBronx News Networkhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03022201181076163457noreply@blogger.comBlogger1125tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6850750806594927202.post-66458673009671864642009-04-03T18:32:00.000-04:002009-04-03T18:32:00.000-04:00i love the norwood news. it's an outstanding comm...i love the norwood news. it's an outstanding community newspaper and vital to all of us. i haven't had a chance to read this new issue yet, but i will do so... cover to cover... as i do every issue.<BR/><BR/>however, there is a major story that this edition of norwood news ignored as did this blog <BR/>(and other media, too) and i can't figure out why.<BR/><BR/>last sunday assemblyman jeffrey dinowitz put out a press release indicating that an evacuation because of a bomb scare at the bronx HS of science did not go as well as possible because of a lack of support by the NYPD, FDNY, OEM, and DEP.<BR/><BR/>because of this, he claims - and the bronx science and UFT chapter agree - that in the case of a more serious incident, in particular a chlorine release at the reservoir, students and teachers would be put unnecessarily in danger.<BR/><BR/>this story is even more important for the norwood news to report in light of the ongoing controversy over the use of chlorine of the reservoir, a DEP official lying about it at an FMC meeting, and bx science requests for emergency planning.<BR/><BR/>again, the norwood news is an outstanding publication. but in this case? uh uh. they missed the boat on an important story.GAX in the Bronxhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13679122512214606513noreply@blogger.com
