Jose, Calderon, the teenager accused of killing 4-year-old Quachaun Browne a year and a half ago in Norwood, is about to stand trial. Norwood News coverage of the incident is here.

The father of the Highbridge fire victims gets to stay in the country for at least another year.

A Bronx soldier who paid a man $500 to shoot him in the foot to avoid going back to Iraq faces a year in jail.

Politicians and community leaders want to form a drug free school zone in the Community Board 6 area (from the Bronx Zoo south to Tremont, from Southern Blvd. to Bronx River Pkwy.) with security cameras and safe havens.

Nice. In addition to many Bronx library branches now being open six days a week, the Bronx Library Center will now be open 7 days a week, 12 hours a day!
