Bronx Events: Blizzard Response Hearing

Finally, an official outlet for all of your snow rage! The City Council is holding a series of hearings in every borough this month to get public feedback on the city's response to the big post-Christmas blizzard. The Bronx hearing will be held tonight at 6 p.m. at Hostos Community College, Savoy Building D, at 120 East 149th Street.

Similar hearings held already in the other boroughs have been tense and emotional, as speakers told stories of unplowed streets trapping ambulances and other emergency vehicles.

Free Flu Shots at Bronx Health Center, Plus Other Events and Announcements

Union Community Health Center is sponsoring a seasonal flu vaccine program from 2 to 6 p.m. this afternoon at its 260 East 188th St. location.

Vaccines are being offered on a first-come, first-serve basis, while supplies last, as part of the city's Seasonal Flu Vaccine Points of Disbursement (POD) program.

Bronx Events: Salsa Star Oscar D'León At Lehman



Venezuelan-born salsa musician Oscar D'León performs at the Lehman Center for Performing Arts tomorrow night, Nov. 20, for a concert at 8 p.m. Tickets are on sale and range from $55 to $85. D'León brings his string of hits to Lehman on this electrifying night including “Llorarás,” “Detalles,” “Mi bajo y yo,” and “Me voy pa Cali.”

Two-Mile Benefit Walk & Other Bronx Events

Tomorrow, Thursday, Oct. 21, Montefiore Medical Center's physical therapy department is hosting a two-mile run/walk in Williamsbridge Oval Park to benefit their B'N Fit program, which aims to combat teenage obesity by promoting exercise and a healthy lifestyle. Walkers will meet in the park at 12 noon; a $10 donation is suggested.
