Car Crash at Fordham Road and Bainbridge Ave [Updated]

A livery cab crashed into a department store on East Fordham Road near Bainbridge Avenue this afternoon, killing one woman and injuring approximately seven others, according to reporter David Greene, who was on the scene and took these photos.
The car smashed into Cee & Cee Department Store, at 331 E. Fordham Road, pinning one woman underneath the vehicle. She was pronounced dead at St. Barnabas Hospital, Greene said.

  1. A car crashed into a fordham household store... My mother witnessed it... It was disturbing when she said she saw the car go on top of a worker that works in the store, it ran on top of her and the glass from the store all broke.. there was a baby inside the taxi car and a mother

  2. My thoughts and prayers with the family of the person who passed away!

  3. David beat me to this, I passed by around 6 and saw this and took pics. I like how quick you guys put this up.

  4. It might not have prevented this accident, but it couldn't hurt if the NYPD actually enforced at least a little bit of the rampant illegal driving by these livery cabs.

I've almost been hit twice while crossing the street in a crosswalk and one of those jokers blew through his stop sign.

I guess the cops are just too busy making phone calls and running around town fixing parking tickets to actually keep us safe.

  5. Thank you, Ms. Rivera. The person who passed away was my Aunt Carmen. Our family has lost a big piece of our hearts on 4/21. Our family is in shock, and though it will be hard to move on without her, our family now has a beautiful guardian angel watching over us. R.I.P. Titi Carmen. Miss you and love you always <3

  6. Sad to say that I knew this beautiful person who perished in this accident. If you can call it that. My husband was in that store not two minutes before the accident and calls me to tell me about it, and then we get notifed that we knew this beautiful person whom is a mother/grandmother and a dear friend. Also sad to say that the guy did not have a drivers license. I hope this sends a message to call cab drivers... Drive carefully.. Us pedestrians do not have a car to cover us, you do. I hope his conscious is killing him as we are in pain in losing a beautiful person. My condolences to her whole family..

  7. I think your being really hard on the Police Department. I was the first to respond to the horrific site and I did pray for her while they worked on her. I amongst other fellow officers removed what seemed to be hundreds of people taking pictures of the victim while she fought for her life. When I took her I.D from her bag my heart broke. I wish I could have done more. I am so sorry for your lost.
