Bronx Arts: Aluminum (Slide) Show at Lehman Center

Here's Adi Talwar's photo slide show from The Aluminum Show, which made its New York City debut at Lehman Center on Feb. 6. Lehman Center is currently celebrating its 30th anniversary season. Dueling 'Messiahs' and Other Events This Weekend

On Sunday afternoon, Bronxites will have not one, but two performances of Handel's "Messiah" to choose from.

The performance at Fordham United Methodist begins at 2 p.m., with a portion of the proceeds going to support the United Methodist Black College fund and several colleges. For more information, click here.

At 3 p.m., the Bronx Opera Company will perform "Messiah" at Lehman Center, with the Taste of Bronx following the show.

Chinese Acrobats at the Lehman Center

These photographs were made last year during the performance of the National Acrobats Of China at the Lehman Center for the Performing Arts. The Lehman Chamber Players will perform "Beethoven's Quartet in E-flat Major," excerpts from Dohnany's "Serenade for Strings" and Brahms' "Piano Quartet in C Minor" (fancy stuff) on Feb. 17 at 12:30pm. Lehman Center for the Performing Arts, in association with Sal Abbatiello of Fever Records, presents the hottest disco party in town – DISCO VALENTINE, on Saturday, February 13 at 8 p.m., featuring Tavares’ “It Only Takes a Minute Girl,” “Heaven Must Be Missing an Angel;” France Joli’s “Come to Me,” “Gonna Get Over You;” The Trammps’ “Disco Inferno,” and much more.

Ruben Studdard, Frenchie Davis, Trenyce Cobbins, Patrice Covington, and Arthur W. Mark performed for an audience that hung on to every word they sung and responded to every move they made. Ballet casts a spell on audience at Lehman Center.

Sunday March 22 2009: The Russian National Ballet Theater performed Cinderella to a full house at the Lehman Center For The Performing Arts. It was Poetry in motion, graceful ballerinas and ballerinos created a memorable evening.
It was like watching a painting come to life.

Chinese Acrobats Awe Audience at Lehman Center

Sunday March 8: The National Acrobats Of China preformed to a packed house at the Lehman Center for the Performing Arts.
