The Riverdale Press interviewed candidates Pedro Espada and Efrain Gonzalez and discussed some real issues, believe it or not, affecting the 33rd Senate District. They've got it on video.

After long reflection, I realized that I could not vote for Efrain Gonzalez, who is accused of taking $400,000 of state money to pay his daughter's college tuition, rehab his mother's condo, and support his cigar factory.
ReplyDeleteI could not vote for Pedro Espada, who does not live here, and about whom I've always been concerned that he runs his Soundview Health Center as a political operation.
So I decided to write myself in. Feel free to write in Margaret Groarke for State Senate. I am a lifelong resident of the Bronx, a twenty-year member of the Northwest Bronx Community and Clergy Coalition, and an honest person. I hope not to win enough votes to win, but to get enough votes to demonstrate that we Bronxites are sick of the bad choices we get on Election Day.
Writing in is a little complicated, although the instructions are printed on the machine.
We need to identify among ourselves some good candidates for next year's elections!
