OK, now it's been officially a year, plus some, that the NYPD has ignored our request for very basic statistical information about crime in Bronx neighborhoods. And it's been a couple of weeks since we posted this clock and we still haven't heard from police headquarters.
Councilman Fernando Cabrera |
Faulkner said he would keep us posted on the progress of the legislation, the first draft of which is being reviewed by the Council's Legal Department, and we will, in turn, keep our readers up to date.
On to the clock! For some background, see Norwood News' editorial here.
Great news! This is the type of treatment we should expect from all of our council members. But I also want to point out that Cabrera's staff are articulate, intelligent powerhouses -- a politician is only as strong as his/her staff.
ReplyDeleteAgreed, great news. Small steps towards a safer neighborhood...collecting data is crucial to change. Awesome work.
ReplyDeleteI agree with anonymous. Councilman Cabrera's staff are the most staunch advocates for the community that any elected official would envy. They are thorough, committed and so sensitive to our families needs in the community. I know personally. God bless his hard work.
ReplyDeleteLegislation??? Why don't you go to the Precinct Council Meetings and pick up the Comp Stats? They are distributed monthly, broken down by the week. Also available to the CB's is the 311 log. You don't need legislation for a staff member to attend the monthly meeting and pick up the comp stats. If you have a productive relationship with the commanding officer they won't blow you off. Legislation....can't wait to read it.......
