Former state senator and city councilman Israel Ruiz just stopped by our office, press release in hand, to announce that he may be running for City Council in the 14th District or possibly even borough president. He said he registered a campaign committee.
Here’s some background on Ruiz from when he unsuccessfully ran for City Council in 2003.
"Israel Ruiz Jr. was found guilty yesterday of filing a false application for a bank loan that was to be used to build a supermarket in his South Bronx district."

Federal felon...is that what we need now? We deserve a City Councilman who does not have a criminal record.

SPECIAL ELECTION FOR BRONX BP???
ReplyDeleteAT WHAT COST????
What stops Bloomberg from just withholding the announcement of a special election to replace Adolfo Carrion?
He did it with the property tax rebates. Delay, delay.
He should NOT announce. Let them take him to court. By the time it's settled it will be September and we can just have a regular primary at no extra cost.
SAVE US THE MONEY!!!
