The Daily News has the latest on the race between Council Majority Leader Joel Rivera and challenger Radame Perez.

Miguel Castanos, once an aide to former state Senator Efrain Gonzalez, pleads guilty to a wire fraud charge and faces up to two years in prison.

Small businesses are closing through out the Bronx. According to a report released by Rep. Anthony Weiner, 9.1% of small businesses have closed.

The Wildlife Conservation Society, which operates the Bronx Zoo, the Queens Zoo and zoos at Central Park and Prospect Park, announced yesterday that 100 of its 1,200 employees have accepted buyouts and that more will be laid off.

A Bronx man faces up to 30 years in prison for killing his robbery accomplice in a hotel in upstate New York, after the two men robbed a drug dealer in Vermont.
