Megan Charlop, the tireless and beloved health educator activist and educator, who died in a tragic bicycle accident last March, will be honored and remembered at this year's Tour de Bronx on Oct. 24. We just got word from organizers that the event is being described as follows: "Dedicated to the memory of Megan Charlop: A Force for Bicycling in the Bronx & Beyond."
We'll have more details soon. Bronx News Network is a media partner of the event this year and we're especially honored to be involved in a Tour de Bronx dedicated to Megan. She was a good friend, devoted reader of and contributor to the Norwood News, and a colleague at Montefiore, where she worked for more than 25 years in the Lead Poisoining Prevention program and the School Health program.
If you've never participated in the Tour de Bronx, we can't think of a better year to check it out. It's a wonderful opportunity to see the unheralded wonders of so many parts of the borough.Check it out and register today.
Love her and miss her, she was such an amazing woman.
