Snow Commute: No Bronx Buses

(File photo courtesy of Sen. Diaz's office)
Morning, folks. The MTA website seems to be having some technical issues, most likely from all the harried commuters who are trying to visit it at once. But they've posted a winter service advisory update to let us know that bus service in the Bronx is suspended right now (bus service in the other boroughs is being restored, slowly.)

As for trains, the agency says most lines are running, but expect delays all around. You can check here for twitter updates on specific lines.

[Editor's Note:] Just a reminder to our readers that the Bronx News Network is in the middle of our annual fundraising appeal. If you value quality local journalism, please consider donating so we can continue to bring you news and features, like our daily roundup or our borough events calendar. More details on how to contribute can be found here.

  1. The view from my window is of a clear Sedgwick Avenue. The buses should be running.

  2. They're back!

Bus service partially restored with weather-related delays on the following routes:
    Bx1, Bx2, Bx3, Bx4, Bx5, Bx7, Bx9, Bx10, Bx12, Bx12 SBS, Bx15, Bx18, Bx19, Bx20, Bx21, Bx28, Bx31, Bx33, Bx36, Bx40, Bx41, Bx42, Bx55, BxM1, BxM2, BxM3, BxM4, BxM11, BxM18

All other bus service is suspended.

  3. Yes! about ten minutes ago I saw two double longs going toward the Concourse.

  4. It's all bloomturd's fault. He bungled the Xmas storm and we have to suspend bus service and close schools? It probably doesn't matter to bloombucks, but we real bronxites don't have limos and need our kids to go to school so we can go to work. Without public schools to watch our kids for free, how could any of us afford to work?
