GAX in the Bronx on Shortchanging After-School Programs

In this latest installment of an ongoing series of commentaries on the Bronx News Network, Gary Axelbank says shortchanging after-school programs harms Bronx residents and neighborhoods.

  1. well Gary it is about time you came around to see it the way it should be, but you are about seven years to late.
King Mayor Bloomberg and his know nothing Chancellor would rather build jails as you say then prevent crime.
Kind of sounds like what goes on at the state level, in the past.
Don't waste money on prevention, cut out the middleman or middlechild and build more jails.

  2. just to be clear, which i'll try not to take personally, i've been editorializing about this for years and years, so my advocacy on this has not been "late" as you say.

on a national level, this was classic reganomics and on a local level, it was mayor rudy who insisted that midnight basketball doesn't work. well, rudy and ronnie were wrong!
