Mess of the Month

Readers of the Norwood News are familiar with our semi-regular Mess of the Month feature. Well, we thought that since so many of this blog's readers work in politics and government, that maybe this might further encourage them to apply some much needed grease to the appropriate bureaucratic levers. So here's our first cross-platform installation of Mess of the Month.

For as long as we can remember this ugly wooden box, at the corner of East 206th Street and Bainbridge Avenue, has remained attached to the bottom of this makeshift traffic pole for no apparent reason. Stability? Nope, it’s made of plywood. Decoration? No, it’s a magnet for graffiti. Protection for wires that are now exposed through holes like the one above inside the box? Perhaps. Regardless, the city must do something about this box and the exposed wires that pose a danger to residents and serve as a blight on our community.
