Bronx News Roundup, April 5

Lloyd Ultan, the Bronx historian, is still at the age of 72, giving walking tours of the borough. On April 24 he will be hosting a tour entitled, "Old Mott Haven." Here's more on Ultan's new comprehensive Bronx history book.

After being indicted on 13 counts of fraud and extortion, Bronx Councilman Larry Seabrook, spent $20,000 of taxpayer's money on a new office.

The 2009 Top U.S. Growth Cities Report conducted by U-Haul indicates that for cities with more than with 5,000 families moving, Bronx, N.Y. had the highest percentage of growth, with 17.22 percent. 

The Bronx Zoo announced the birth of a baby lemur today that is endangered and native to Madagascar. 

Although they led 5-1 in the 6th inning, the Yankees dropped their season opener in Boston last night to the rival Boston Red Sox by a final score of 9-7.
