The 1st ever South Bronx Folk Festival will be held this Friday and Saturday, 12/10 and 12/11, at the Casita Maria Center for Arts and Education at 928 Simpson Street in Hunts Point. The first of what will be a yearly event, the festival is meant to highlight the diverse cultures and folklore in the borough and will feature performances by Puerto Rican dance group Danza Fiesta and the Diversity in Arts and Nations for Cultural Education, Inc's Children's Dance Project.
The icing on the cake? The festival is free! Though you can help support the local arts and Casita Maria with a $5 suggested donation. Check out this and other Bronx events in our community calendar, below.
