Bronx Events Through Dec. 10

Stop by the New York Botanical Garden at 1:30 for Gingerbread Adventures at the Everett Children's Adventure Garden. The adventures will take place every Tuesday through Sunday through January 10. During Gingerbread Adventures, children will see, touch and learn about the different plants used to make gingerbread.

The Lehman Jazz Ensemble will perform on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. at Lehman College, 250 Bedford Park Boulevard.

Hostos Community College is celebrating Kwanzaa on Wednesday night at 7 p.m. Events will include performances by choreographers Obediah Wright and Jerome Hunter and an African market. Hostos Community College is located at 500 Grand Concourse.

The Melrose New York Public Library (910 Morris Avenue) is presenting "A Christmas Carol" on Wednesday at 4 p.m. The classic play adapted from Charles Dickens' novel will be performed by the Traveling Lantern Theater Company.

Get your video game on at the Game On program at a variety of New York Public Library locations throughout the Bronx. Check out Game On dates and times here. Games include Wii, PlayStation 3 and more.

Speaking of games, check out Game Night every Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Starving Artist Cafe and Gallery at 249 City Island Avenue. Games include chess, cards, dominoes and checkers.

The District 10 Community Education Council will meet this Thursday at P.S. 9 at 230 East 183rd Street from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The council will discuss the 5 Year Capital Plan/ Zone Change Proposal.

The City Council Zoning and Franchises Subcommittee is scheduled to vote on the Kingsbridge Armory redevelopment on Wednesday morning. Check back on the blog for more developments in the process.
