Espada's Back as Dem Majority Leader; Standoff Ends

State Senate Democrats took Pedro Espada back into the Democratic fold, made him majority leader, and seemingly ended the month-long gridlock in state government.

The Boogiedowners aren't happy.

  1. I am shocked that such things can happen in the USA. This man is only thinking for himself. Is he going to pay for the monies he stole, lied, forget that he changed parties. Will someone get him out.

  2. Folks, Senator Espada was not the only one! Not that I am defending the actions, it is just that he acted because he was afraid of becoming marginalized.

According to that NY Times article "Stalemate Ends ....", it states that seven other Democratic senators led by another Bronx Senator (Jeff Klein) were going over to the Republicans.

In what maybe the funniest part of the article, a joint Republican/Democratic statement was issued about changing the rules. Senator Dean Skelos then takes credit for bringing about the change which was from the Republican 40 year strong hold over the body!

In the end, the statement from Bronx State Senator Eric Schneiderman is the best one yet!

Let us see what will develop from all this in fighting and apparent lack of leadership.
