July 1 2009 evening: These fireworks were a part of "The Bronx Celebrates American" event at orchard beach, the city's first fireworks show of the holiday season. I made these photographs standing at a window, corner of Tryon ave and Reservoir oval west.

Go Bronx! We definitely need more events like this in the Boogie.. Wish I was there..
ReplyDeleteI live in Co-op City and when I saw the Fireworks I wondered what was the occasion! I had a fantastic view of the show from my window and I hope the next time there's an event @ Orchard Beach the organizers will post announcements throughout my community.
ReplyDeleteThis is ridiculous. There were several articles misstating the date of this event. The last resource said it would be held on Friday, July 3rd.
ReplyDeleteWhat a bummer to begin the summer :(
Does anyone know if this is taking place in July 2010?
