Police Officer Shot in Melrose

A police officer from the 44th Precinct was shot in the stomach during an altercation with a man in Melrose early this afternoon.

  1. why did it take the medical examiner to determine that it was NYPD who shot the alleged assailant and that his wounds were not self-inflicted when, apparently, the man was wounded in a gun battle with police?

think of it... there was a gun battle with police and the man was later found dead. he had three bullet wounds and the first reports were that he died from self-inflicted wounds. makes no sense.

  2. FYI... The wounded officer was pulled from the apartment and ESU did not reenter the apartment for nearly an hour, cops also were dealing with an idiot throwing debris at them from the roof.
