Bronx News Roundup Jan. 8

A woman has been found dead on the roof of her apartment building at 2640 Marion Ave. in Fordham. Manuella Paulemont, 28, had been reported missing by her family a few days ago. Paulemont's boyfriend, with whom she had a four-year-old child, was arrested by police for criminal contempt and burglary. He's also being questioned about the murder.

The cause of death has yet to be determined, but her body was found burned with her legs and arms severed. Here's more from the Daily News. The Norwood News should have more on this story soon.

Disgruntled teachers at the famed Bronx High School of Science are leaving the school in droves because of the poisonous work environment created by a new assistant principal.

Not everyone is happy with the long-awaited renovations the city has in store for parkland at Jerome Park Reservoir.

Several city parks, including Van Cortlandt Park, no longer have free Wi-Fi access after the contractor ran into financial difficulties.

The Yankees want to spend nearly $100 million of taxpayer money on "shiny new toys like giant video screens and upgraded luxury suites." More here.
