You Thought Espada v. Gonzalez Was Lively?

Looks like Council Member Larry Seabrook has a fight on his hands in District 12 this year with challenger Jerome Rice, a former Corrections captain. This You Tube video, which is also on Rice's Web site, shows the two arguing. Not a pretty sight. Rice appears to be taking Seabrook to task for a community center that is not opening during the summer. If anyone has the background on this, please comment.

  1. at the very end of Mr. Seabrook's appearance on Bronxtalk this week, a viewer called in and even before she could challenge him on a couple of issues, he clearly knew who she was and had his dander up about some things he has or has not done for the community. incredibly, they were disagreeing over whether or not a fottball field has been rebuilt. how can there be a question about that? either it has or hasn't been. it's not a debatable point.

unfortunately, it was at the end of the show and i didn't have the time to get to the bottom of it, but clearly there is a crediblity issue one way or the other on his job performance.

i look forward to the election season and fully expect to invite candidates for the 12th council district (and others) to appear on BronxTalk in a debate so that the voting public can make up its mind.
