The first evening of October: The month long BlakTino Performance Series 2009 at Bronx Academy of Arts & Dance started with: Crossing the Lines-Radical Cartoonists.
The opening night featured the work of four groundbreaking and accomplished LGBT comic book and graphic novel artists. Carlo Quispe, Erika Lopez, Jennifer Camper and Norwood resident Ivan Velez. The artists shared their provocative work along with stories of obstacles and barrier they faced and triumphed over in the straight male world of comics. The four artists have a great sense of humor and had the audience laughing, while they shared their work and stories from their life. Click here for the BlakTino Performance Series schedule.
