Ignorance knows no borders

Jeanmarie Evelly, a reporter for the Mott Haven Herald, writes that she recently came across an article in the Canadian newspaper the Globe and Mail that perpetuates stereotypes of the South Bronx.

The "article on how Myspace is now considered the 'ghetto' networking site," she writes, "decided to use the SB as an analogy: 'virtual litter and digital graffiti make the social network the South Bronx of the web,'" says the Globe and Mail.

Evelly goes on, "There's another interesting SB reference towards the end of the piece, where the author equates the switch from myspace to facebook with moving from the South Bronx to Connecticut. Hmm."
