Bronx News Roundup, Oct. 14

We missed posting this yesterday somehow. On the bright side, this will be the first of two news roundups today.

A pregnant woman claims that a police officer did not stop to check on her after sideswiping her car in the Bronx.

A family and school community mourn the loss of the 11-year-old girl killed on Sunday in a drunk driving car crash. The victim, Leandra Roasada, was one of seven passengers in the car driven by an intoxicated Bronx mother.

Governor Paterson and Westchester County Executive Andy Spano will announce their plan today to keep trucks off parkways, including the Bronx River Parkway, in an effort to keep them from colliding with overpasses.

She's not singing, but she's planting in the Bronx! Bette Midler's non-profit, New York Restoration Project, in collaboration with Target, recently built a community garden in Highbridge.

Where are they coming from? Nobody is able to answer that question regarding the latest sick goat found roaming the Bronx. The stranded animal is the fourth over the past few months to be rounded-up and treated.
